Watchful citizens aid Police in Narcotic and Armed Robbery Arrests
On 1-29-08, a Watchful citizen saw a suspicious incident and brought it to the attention of the St Clair Shores Police Department. Police received a call of an occupied suspicious vehicle that was parked and running in the area of South Lake Middle School after normal school hours. Officers arrived and after investigating the incident arrested the driver for Violation of Controlled Substance Act. Officers confiscated numerous packets of Heroin and impounded the vehicle. The Police Department accredits the arrest to a watchful resident that was acting as the eyes and ears of the Department.
Also on 1-29-08, a local tanning salon was robbed early in the evening. After the perpetrator left the building, the receptionist immediately dialed 911 and gave dispatchers a very detailed description of the perpetrator and the get away vehicle. Within minutes, the vehicle was spotted and the lone female perpetrator was arrested. During the interview by Detectives, the perpetrator admitted to this robbery and similar robberies in Eastpointe and Sterling Heights.
